Currently Reading

We started ‘Fallen Flame’ by J.M. Miller today! Which is an ebook from Netgalley.Fallen Flame (Fallen Flame, #1)

The novel follows a girl named Vala, who was born on the island kindom of ‘Garlin’. With charred skin which she was instantly feared for as how could she be threatened by magic when it perished years ago? After years passed, the girl finds herself as a guard, an asset to the royal family to protect the prince. As threats rise, Vala faces questions about her life, to discover who she truly is which she constantly fears.

This book just sounds so interesting! It reminds us of the ‘Throne of Glass’ series by Sarah J. Maas. We will leave a link to the book synopsis here.

This book followed a young girl named Aila Quinn who’s mother, Juliet recently died. Juliet has always been a mystery and well guarded. After her mother’s death, Aila and her brother, Miles are sent to live in ‘Sterling’ (a rural town where her mother grew up).

‘Sterling’ is a place with mysteries of its very own. A place of disappearances. As Aila begins to unravel the mystery, she learns what part her mother played in the disappearances that were occurring.

This book was just so intriguing, we literally couldn’t put it down! We will hopefully have our review out soon! Book synopsis here.

  1. A Monster Calls is an absolutely brilliant book, definitely my favourite Ness (well maybe) so I hope you both enjoy it.

I hadn’t heard of Fallen Flame but it does sound interesting, if not necessarily the most unique storyline.

    1. Thank you. We are really looking forward to both reads. The blurb of ‘Fallen Flame’ sounds a little bit similar to the ‘Throne of Glass’ series so hopefully it has some different concepts 😊.
