Currently Reading –

So we started reading ‘When It’s Real’ by Erin Watt last week. We were hoping to read this last weekend however, due to so many assessments for school and university, we were only able to finish one book last weekend. 35575143

We also started reading ‘Harbour of Light’ by Elle Scott. We read this author’s debuting novel for this series a couple of months ago. We will leave our review for ‘Ray of Light’ here ‘Ray of Light’ by Elle Scott.

This novel follows the leading characters Nora, Kate and Vivian who find themselves caught in a war. We are honestly just so excited to start reading this novel as the first novel to the series was just so interesting and exciting!

Recently Finished –

20427916_673943842799014_224458495_nWe recently finished reading ‘Recruits’ by Thomas Locke on the weekend. We found that this novel was really unique in the way the idea of the novel was presented. However, the story didn’t have a lot of character development .

We also recently finished reading ‘Stolen Songbird’ by Danielle L. Jensen. We just loved this novel it was truly amazing! We borrowed this novel from our local library as we heard so many great things about it.

We are just so glad we decided to pick up this novel to read! We would love to eventually be able to buy this series!

Reading Next –

We are hoping to read ‘The Loneliest Girl in the Universe’ by Lauren James next. The novel follows Romy Silvers, the only surviving crew- member of a spaceship travelling to a new planet to discover a second home of which humanity can live among the stars. She is the loneliest girl in the 20864106_682217001971698_2130080875_n.pnguniverse until she hears about a boy called J who is also a single passenger aboard a different spaceship.

We just find this synopsis to be so interesting so we can’t wait to get to this read this week!

Currently Reading –

We started ‘Recruits’ by Thomas Locke last week! We are finding this novel to be actually really interesting so far! However, we have just had so many assignments to work on for school and university that we haven’t had as much time as we would have liked to read it. So fingers crossed we can finish it this weekend❤️.

We have mentioned this novel for the past two weeks now so we won’t describe what the novel is about. We will wait to share our thoughts on this novel for when we post our review 😊.

We also recently started reading ‘When It’s Real’ by Erin Watt a couple of days ago! 35135822

This novel follows a completely down-to-earth girl named Vaughn Bennett who basically gives up her college life to become a waitress to support her younger siblings after their parents’ tragic death. What Vaughn doesn’t know is that she is about to be offered a job that will have the power to ultimately change her life. The publicity team behind Oakley Ford, a famous teen pop star is willing to pay her $20,000 to pretend to be in love with him.

 

Recently Finished –

Due to a lot of school/university commitments lately, we only managed to finish one novel last week which was ‘The Love Interest’ by Cale Dietrich.20751294_679447525581979_1532419023_n

Unfortunately, we were a little let down by this novel. However, the whole idea and premise of the novel was just so original! We are posting our review of the novel today, so stay tuned!

 

Reading Next –

17926775After visiting our local library a couple of days ago, we have chosen to read ‘Stolen Songbird’ by Danielle L.Jensen. So we are hoping to pick this up very soon!

We don’t know a lot about this novel however, we have heard so many great reviews so hopefully we enjoy it!

Currently Reading –

We started ‘Recruits’ by Thomas Locke a couple of days ago! We haven’t had the chance to read these past couple of days as we had exams to study for however, hopefully we can pick it up again tomorrow ❤️.31145148

The novel has been really interesting so far so we hope to finish it on the weekend sometime! 

We also started reading ‘The Love Interest’ by Cale Dietrich today! We bought this novel in June as we just found the synopsis so interesting!

We don’t know a lot about this novel as we only briefly started reading it however, we are just so excited to get into it!

Recently Finished –

We finished reading ‘Charlie, Presumed Dead’ by Anne Heltzel last week. We really loved the concept and adventure of this novel however, the execution of the characters was just not for us. 22749846

This does not mean you won’t personally enjoy it though! We will have a review out soon so stay tuned!

On another note, another novel that we finished reading a couple of days ago is ‘The Impossible Vastness of Us’ by Samantha Young! We received this novel via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

We are so glad we pick this novel up! You may have already seen our review that we posted a couple of days ago however, we really enjoyed all the characters, their close friendship and the overall meaning behind the story! Currently Reading –

We started ‘Charlie, Presumed Dead’ by Anne Heltzel a couple of days ago! We received this novel from Black Inc Australia ❤️.

This novel follows the two leading characters: Lena Whitney and Aubrey Boroughs. The two girls discover a shocking betrayal, they have both been dating the same guy named Charlie. Coincidentally, they both meet in Paris on the day of his funeral as he has been presumed dead after an explosion. They realize that Charlie kept a lot of secrets of which they plan to uncover! They both have reason to believe that he is still alive. 

We just think the synopsis of this novel sounds so interesting! So we can’t wait to uncover all the secrets of which it hides!34848140

We are also started reading ‘The Impossible Vastness of Us’ by Samantha Young yesterday! We received this novel via Netgalley to review.

We don’t know a lot about this novel as we only briefly started reading it however, the synopsis of this novel seems really interesting so we can’t wait to get into it!

Recently Finished –

We finished reading ‘The Ones That Disappeared’ by Zana Fraillon last night. We were actually really surprised with how much we enjoyed this novel. It was just so poetic and moving! 20401081_673498316176900_796942956_n

It explored themes of child slavery and child trafficking. The novel is about stories of survival and courage and what one must do to hold on to hope. The novel definietly gives a voice to those which have personally experienced child slavery.

Our next read that we are hoping to pick up soon is ‘Recruits’ by Thomas Locke. We don’t know a lot about this novel. Apparently it follows seventeen-year-old twins Sean and Dillon Kirrell who are drawn to the mysterious alternate world that’s translated within the images that cover their bedroom walls.

We find this synopsis really intriguing so we can’t wait to see what the novels all about!

We started ‘The Ones That Disappeared’ by Zana Fraillon today! We received this novel from Hachette Australia last month❤️. Link to book synopsis here.

This novel follows three children who try to escape from slavery. We don’t know much about this novel besides the main focus. We just can’t wait to get further into this read.

Recently Finished –

We were just completely caught off guard by this novel! We were originally drawn to this novel by the cover alone as it is just truly amazing! We found ourselves interested in so many things throughout this novel. Check out our review ‘Godblind’ by Anna Stephens😊.

We also recently finished ‘Tell It to the Moon’ by Siobhan Curham. This was such an amazing read and sequel to ‘The Moonlight Dreamers’. This novel will definitely relate to so many teenagers, so we definitely recommend this novel!tell it to the moon

We started ‘Godblind’ by Anna Stephens yesterday! We didn’t get the chance to read much of it yesterday. This is not the kind of book that we normally read however, after reading the reviews from fellow bloggers we are just so excited to get into it!

We actually haven’t really had the chance to read many novels that have Gods as characters so we are hoping that we really enjoy it! We will leave a link to the book’s synopsis here.

Recently Finished –

We recently finished reading ‘Fallen Flame’ by J.M. Miller, which was an ebook from Netgalley. We were honestly just so caught off guard by this novel as it was just filled with so much action and plenty of surprises! 19987287_666854980174567_433749384_n

We weren’t quite sure about this novel going into it as we thought it was going to be very similar to many YA fantasy novels that we have read before. We are just so glad we picked it up! The plot and characters were just so unique and intriguing. We would definitely recommend this novel by J.M. Miller.

We also read ‘A Monster Calls’ by Patrick Ness. We have recently published our review of this novel so we won’t go into much detail about our thoughts. However, the idea of this novel was just such a beautiful idea!19866649_664034950456570_985522053_n

Although it was simple, it was also very powerful and surreal at the same time! We really enjoyed the hints of magical realism throughout the novel! This novel definitely taught us a lot!

Currently Reading 

We started ‘Fallen Flame’ by J.M. Miller today! Which is an ebook from Netgalley.Fallen Flame (Fallen Flame, #1)

The novel follows a girl named Vala, who was born on the island kindom of ‘Garlin’. With charred skin which she was instantly feared for as how could she be threatened by magic when it perished years ago? After years passed, the girl finds herself as a guard, an asset to the royal family to protect the prince. As threats rise, Vala faces questions about her life, to discover who she truly is which she constantly fears.

This book just sounds so interesting! It reminds us of the ‘Throne of Glass’ series by Sarah J. Maas. We will leave a link to the book synopsis here.

Recently Finished –

We recently finished ‘The Disappearances’ by Emily Bain Murphy. This novel was actually released yesterday so we would just like to say congratulations to the author and wish it a lovely book birthday!

This book followed a young girl named Aila Quinn who’s mother, Juliet recently died. Juliet has always been a mystery and well guarded. After her mother’s death, Aila and her brother, Miles are sent to live in ‘Sterling’ (a rural town where her mother grew up).

‘Sterling’ is a place with mysteries of its very own. A place of disappearances. As Aila begins to unravel the mystery, she learns what part her mother played in the disappearances that were occurring.

This book was just so intriguing, we literally couldn’t put it down! We will hopefully have our review out soon! Book synopsis here.

We started ‘Finding Nevo’ by Nevo Zisin yesterday. We are about 100 pages in. This novel is such an important autobiography that mentions gender identity and finding who you are! We will leave a link to the books blurb here.

We also finally decided to pick up ‘Flame in the Mist’ by Renee Ahdieh. We have been 19184404_653662834827115_392318790_nmeaning to pick this one up for a little while now. We are just so excited to read this novel as we are huge fans of re-tellings and this one just happens to be inspired by Mulan! Hopefully we will love it! Did you enjoy ‘Flame in the Mist’?

Recently Finished –

We recently finished reading ‘Begin, End, Begin: A #LoveOzYa Anthology’ a couple of days ago and we are happy to say that we really enjoyed these short stories!19397999_656876144505784_1637964701_n

We loved how so many authors came together to create this beautiful anthology. We aren’t usually ones for anthologies however, we really enjoyed these shorts stories. They just had us wanting more!

We also finished ‘Laurinda’ by Alice Pung last night. We have been wanting to pick this up for a little while now and we are so glad that we did! We enjoyed the characters and the overall plot. We loved how the author could incorporate so many messages into a Young Adult book that would be relevant to anyone. We recently received a copy of ‘The Disappearances’ by Emily Bain Murphy from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to review.

This book follows a young girl named Aila Quinn who’s mother Juliet recently died. Juliet has always been a mystery and well guarded. After her mother’s death, Aila and her brother Miles are sent to live in Sterling, a rural town where her mother grew up. 19512534_659952610864804_1400763575_n

Sterling is a place with mysteries of its very own. A place of disappearances. As Aila begins to unravel the mystery, she learns what part her mother played why the disappearances occur.

Currently Reading

We started ‘Begin, End, Begin: A #LoveOzYA Anthology’ yesterday. We are about 100 pages in and we are just loving these Australian authors short stories!

This book is written from the points of view of many Australian authors! The authors aim is to show and express just how much there is to love about Aussie YA!

Recently Finished –

We recently finished ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas a couple of days ago. We weren’t really sure what to expect with this book but it was absolutely incredible!

This book follows Starr, a sixteen-year-old girl who lives in two worlds: a poor neighborhood where she grew up and her posh high school. This restless balance is ruined when Starr is the witness to a devastating shooting of her best friend, Khalil who was unarmed.

This book has such an important message! We definitely recommend this powerful novel. We will post our review tomorrow, Stay tuned!

Reading Next –

We are thinking that it’s about time we finally picked up ‘Laurinda’ by Alice Pung. The author has also written a short story in ‘Begin, End, Begin’ which we can’t wait to read!

This story is focused on an exclusive school for girls ‘Laurinda’. Lucy Lam, a scholarship girl with sharp eyes is an onlooker to ‘The Cabinet’, a triangle of girls who you could say are manipulative over students as well as teachers within the school. This book is often described as a book of ‘finding ones identity’.19427841_656861857840546_574969031_n

Currently Reading: 

We are going to start ‘The Hate U Give’ by Angie Thomas later today.

We have heard so many great things about this book. We bought this a little while ago and we are just so excited to finally start reading it!

 

Recently Finished –
We recently finished ‘Pointe, Claw’ by Amber J. Keyser. We finished this book yesterday and we were really surprised, we enjoyed it more than we thought we would 😊.

This book follows a pair of childhood friends who are both running out of time. Jessie is a dancer in an elite ballet program that requires her full attention and 100% perfection to land a spot in a professional company. However, as she begins to experiment throughout her dance, nothing has felt more dangerous.

32661783She has one shot at her dream.

Meanwhile, her friend Dawn’s life is just shattering around her. She constantly awakes in unusual places after black outs; bruised, battered and unable to speak, the doctors are out of ideas.
We really enjoyed this novel and we will post a review very soon!

As we find ourselves re-reading ‘The Selection’ series, we recently finished reading ‘The One’ by Kiera Cass this week. It was just an amazing read. We are just completely in love with this series, it’s plot and it’s characters. It’s such an intriguing and really exciting read which we would definitely recommend!

We will also have another review coming out soon for this beautifully written book.    Stay tuned!

Reading Next –
We have decided to read ‘Flame in the Mist’ by Renee Ahdieh next . This has been inspired by a Mulan re-telling which also incorporates folklore into it’s story. We are so excited to start reading this. We are hoping to start it soon! ❤ 19184404_653662834827115_392318790_n.png
